NO-TOOL FIRST CHECKS
Sprinklers won’t shut off?
Start with what you can safely observe. Skip any step you are unsure about; these checks do not guarantee finding or repairing the fault.
1. Use the timer’s off control
If safely accessible, select OFF with the timer’s normal controls. Note whether water stops, slows down, or continues unchanged.
2. Control an ongoing leak safely
If water continues, use only an irrigation shutoff you already know how to operate safely. Do not force unfamiliar valves or work on pumps or backflow devices.
3. Know when remote help is insufficient
Water near electricity, buildings, streets or unstable ground needs prompt local attention. Keep clear of the hazard; a remote request is not an emergency dispatch.
